ALL ABOUT BATTERIES
Have you ever run out of batteries when you needed it most?
It surely reminds you of memories and not necessarily the most pleasant ones ...
We give you some tips to make your choice among the many products on the market.
There are batteries adapted for each. The number of charges is determined by the number of milliampere-hours (mAh) of the battery, or its capacity. There are powerbanks from 2,000 to 50,000 mAh.
Thus, for a regular charge, a 3400 mAh battery will works well. With a powerbank of that capacity, you can recharge a smartphone once. So our smallest powerbank is the Powerlamp with a capacity of 3400 mAh. And it also allows you to light up and secure yourself with the light signals it emits. As for our Booster which jump-starts the motorcycles and small city cars, it also works as a powerbank with a capacity of 5.600 mAh. Just what you need to recharge up to 2 times a smartphone.
But for recurring needs, and to leave in autonomy, a model of 10.000 mAh will offer a better flexibility. That's why, we have created our removable and interchangeable range of batteries which have a capacity of 17.300 mAh to 30.000 mAh. By sliding them inside the OTONOHM products, you can keep away from electrical outlets. And soon, we will release the powerbanks to take with you everywhere with great power capabilities.
But this is not the only thing to look at ... It still has to recharge the battery quickly. And the MUST be that it offers different types of peripherals. It is therefore necessary to take a look at the intensity of the USB port (s) of the battery.
This intensity is expressed in amperes (from 1A to 3A depending on the batteries). It is thanks to it that your electronic device will charge more or less quickly.
But it is also necessary that this intensity corresponds to that of the device you want to recharge. A 1A lower-end battery will have difficult to charge a tablet that claims at least 2A ...
From the smaller to the bigger
There are small Powerbanks to slip easily into his pocket as compact mini-blocks heavy to carry. This is normal, their weight also determines their capacity. You will never find a 10,000 mAh battery by the weight of a 4.000 mAh battery.
Another tip: Make sure that the CE standard on packaging meets technical standards in accordance with European standards.
Also note that when it is too little expensive, it is better to abstain ... As for many electronic, "You get what you get".
USB type A, USB Type B, USB type C, micro or mini... easy to be lost...!
In the classics, there is thus the Type A, used especially on the USB keys and most of the peripherals. The Micro B is also very widespread since it is now the standard used on mobile devices (only Apple makes resistance).
Whether Type A, Type B, Micro or Mini, they all share the same defect: they can only fit in one direction. Who has never be annoyed trying to connect a USB flash drive? First sense, it's not the right one, it does not fit right away so we return the key and, oddly it is still not good. Back on the first sense and it works, you just had to "play" a bit on the insert.
The USB consortium has decided to offer a new type of USB connector, Type C, whose main advantage will be to be reversible. Almost identical in size to a Micro B (8.3 x 2.5 mm), it is also universal and aims to replace, in the long term, all types of connectors, including those of mobile devices.
But the USB Type C is also compatible with USB Power Delivery v2.0. To put it in a nutshell, certified USB Type C cables deliver a maximum power of 100 watts when used on USB 3.1 hardware. It then becomes possible to power other devices than smartphones and tablets, for example laptops. Some models can already be charged via USB: the Apple MacBook Retina 12 "and the Google Chromebook Pixel, Razer avec son Blade Stealth ou encore Asus sur ses portables de jeu.
This connector is therefore intended to generalize, which will allow, as for smartphones and tablets, to gradually limit the multiplication of chargers. Generalizing the USB wall outlets USB - there already exists Type A - in a house will make it possible to dispense with mobile charger.
Devices with USB-C are multiplying. They are usually in 3A under 5V. This is the case of the Nintendo Switch games console, but also the latest MacBook and MacBook Pro.
